Welcome to The Photo Ethics Podcast!

I’m your host, Savannah Dodd, and I’m the founder of the Photography Ethics Centre.

Each week we will hear from an accomplished photographer about what ethics means in their practice. We will talk about how these photographers have handled challenging situations, we will hear how their different experiences have shaped the way that they use their camera, and we will ask the big questions to find out why they photograph what they photograph. We will cover topics like consent, dignity, power, responsibility, impact, and collaboration.

I hope that you will join me as we speak with some fantastic photographers to hear about their journeys toward a photography practice that embeds ethics in every stage of the process - from deciding what to photograph, how to photograph it, how to edit that photograph, where to publish a photograph, and how to caption it.

Savannah Dodd is a photographer and anthropologist. Her work in photography is heavily influenced by her background in anthropology. She places great importance on process, modes of access, and engagement with the people and places she photographs. Savannah combined her experience in anthropology with her passion for photography in 2017 when she founded the Photography Ethics Centre.
